Adult Education and Training

The Adult Education and Training program is learner-centered and encourages lifelong learning of its participants through a program that is based in practice yet, grounded in current adult learning theory. This generalist program is primarily designed to serve the subject matter expert in any field facilitate adult learning activities. Students come from a variety of fields: public service, medical, English as a second language instruction and tutoring, adult basic education, career & technical education, corporate/business training, student & instructional services, military training, experiential education, arts & sciences, and many others.

Counseling and Career Development

The Counseling and Career Development program prepares professional counselors to help people of all ages develop the self awareness, exploration and decision making skills needed to live effective lives within a pluralistic society.

This program, unique within the state of Colorado for its vocational emphasis, is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) . It allows students to choose from the following CACREP specialties:

  • School Counseling
  • Career Counseling
  • Community Counseling

Educational Leadership

This specialization is designed for individuals preparing for leadership positions in education. A student may select a program leading to a M.Ed. with an emphasis in Instruction/Special Needs (Option 1); Administration (Option 2), or Teacher Licensure (Project Promise-Option 3 - ON HOLD or TEAM-Option 4 - ON HOLD).

Program participants will:

  • Develop the leadership skills to direct Educational programs
  • Become facilitators of educational change
  • Implement new approaches to solving the problems confronting education

Organizational Performance and Change

The Organizational Performance & Change (OPC) masters program of study is designed for HRD and management professionals who are responsible for optimizing human capital and organizational performance.
